In 1997, Prof. Wan graduated in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology with a master's degree (1997-2000). He worked in Shanghai BASF Dye Chemical Co., Ltd. from 2000 to 2003. Then, start from 2004, Prof. Wan stayed in University of Mississippi (USA), studying on coal combustion research and achieved a doctorate in 2009. From 2009, he moved to Prof. Daniel Resasco’s research group as a postdoctoral researcher (University of Oklahoma), engaging in biomass catalytic conversion research. In 2014, he relocated to Xiamen University as associate professor, working on biomass conversion reactions.
