Dr. Haifeng Xiong received his BS and MS degrees of Science from South-Central University for Nationalities and his PhD degree in physical chemistry from Suzhou University (Prof. Jinlin Li's group, China) in December 2008. From Jan. 2009 to May 2011, he worked as a research fellow with Prof. Coville on Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and shaped carbon materials (University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa), followed by a postdoctoral fellow from Prof. Abhaya Datye’s group in University of New Mexico from 2011 to 2015. In Jan. 2016, he was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in UNM, working on many areas, such as synthesis and application of novel carbon and carbon/oxide materials in catalysis, the hydrothermally stable catalysts in aqueous-phase reactions, production of biomass-derived chemicals and bimetallic catalysts, single atom catalysis. In July 2019, he accepted an offer from Xiamen University as full professor. Currently, his interests include natural gas and syngas conversion, single atom catalysis and advanced electron microscopy.
